Exporting Specialty Coffee from Haiti

Kok ki Chante (KKC) is the lead supplier and exporter of specialty, single origin coffee from smallholder co-ops in Haiti. We work shoulder to shoulder with our farmer partners across all major coffee sectors.  We coordinate and oversee the entire coffee supply chain (we are the farmers’ dry mill / secondary processor).   Contact us today to arrange your container or more of specialty coffee (need a partial container?  We consolidate).   Need just a sack?  We do that too through our marketing partner Singing Rooster (details at the end of this page).

Haiti is the most mountainous nation in the Caribbean –well suited for coffee.  Haitian coffee is classically Caribbean — rich chocolaty sweet body with mellow citrus-highlights and notes of nougat, dried raisins. Haitian coffee is rare and comes from the same type of Arabica plant with genetic roots traced to Ethiopia.  Moreover, Haitian coffee is grown in a similar region as Jamaican Blue coffee. We source coffee from different sectors, some of which are rebuilding after hurricanes.  Currently, our green offerings include:

  • Blue Pine Forest
  • 3 Mountains
  • Baptist Blue
  • Savan Zombie
  • Haitian Honey – unwashed honeyed

Blue Pine Forest

Haiti’s Pine Forest is renown for coffee, and the lush landscape here is rare.  The Pine Forest is an active place — the main thoroughfare for the Saturday market. Coffee is the life blood of this area. Blue Pine Forest is classically Caribbean — chocolaty sweet with mellow citrus-highlights. It’s a perfect cup for those who like to ease into the day or relax with coffee after work.   Roasting Profile:  A medium dark roast reveals a rich, baker’s chocolate-caramel flavor with floral notes and dark fruit.
